FAQ

How can I feed Royal Canin food to my pet?

First, when introducing new food to your pet’s diet, make a gradual transition. We recommend you do a transition phase of seven days to avoid dietary issues. Mix a portion of the new food with your pet's current food, gradually increasing the ratio every three days until your pet is fully adapted.

Make sure your pet always has fresh water available. For better results, you can combine the dry food with the Royal Canin Satiety Weight Management wet cat food, which you can feed separately or in the same bowl.

Nevertheless, before use and for further guidance, speak to your vet and follow their advice.

How much Royal Canin should I give to my pet?

The ideal weight should be determined according to the weight and body condition score (BCS) of your cat. As such, the recommended daily intake of this food is based on your pet’s ideal weight. The starting portion size may need to be adjusted during follow-up visits to your veterinarian. The optimal weight loss rate for cats is 0.5-2% body weight per week.

It’s recommended to continue feeding this weight-loss diet once achieved the ideal or target weight. For ideal weight maintenance, gradually increase the daily food intake until the weight has stabilized. Maintenance portions may need to be adjusted based on the individual. If your cat regains more than 5% of body weight, the portion size should be decreased to weight loss levels.

Adjust the portion size according to your cat’s ideal weight and phase of the diet.
